Okay, so what day does your tree go up?
Discussion
Normally the first weekend in December, but seen as I'm away with work for 2 months from this weekend, we had an early Christmas.
Full christmas lunch, presents. The lot. The mrs emailed the place we usually pick up our tree from and they opened for a couple of hours just for us, and had a selection of trees cut down ready for our arrival.
It's a cracker.

Saw one in someone's window on the way home tonight, not even December.
Personally I would put the tree up on Xmas Eve for the 12 days of Xmas and then take it down. Xmas goes on far too long and most people just think it is a shopping event with an excuse to eat and drink too much, bahh humbug...

As you correctly say, Christmas lasts 12 days only.Personally I would put the tree up on Xmas Eve for the 12 days of Xmas and then take it down. Xmas goes on far too long and most people just think it is a shopping event with an excuse to eat and drink too much, bahh humbug...
The Christmas tree should be put up and decorated on December 24, Christmas Eve, and stay up until January 6, the day of Epiphany.
The period before this is Advent, the season of waiting and preparation ready for what should be the Nativity celebrations but is now only Christmas. It begins the fourth Sunday before 25th December.

That'd make my job fun! 72 and counting to deliver, then recover, across Dorset, Hants and Wilts, with maximum seven people and three vans.
Generally the second weekend of December and down on my Birthday; 5th January.
We always have a real one and the youngest; now 15, always comes with me to help choose, it is a kind of tradition that we have done ever since she has been old enough to be aware.
It's funny as in the summer when I'm looking for garden plants or something for the patio I baulk at and refuse to pay £50 for a potted plant or bush, however I have no issue with spending £50 on a real Christmas tree, which I will be chucking away in a few weeks time.
Every year they go up, I wonder how much the equivalent will be this year; £60?

You really don't have the most difficult delivery job of the festive season. I can think of one chap who has to make quite a few more deliveries than you, and he only has a single sleigh.During the day on Christmas Eve my son-in-law and I go and cut one of our Scot's pine down,
struggle back to the house with it, get shouted at by my other half for damaging the paintwork as we negotiate our way through the house, argue as to which is its 'best side' and fail to agree about whether it's vertical and safe (it's always a big tree).
Then my S - I - L and I settle down to the serious business of beer whilst my wife and daughter b1tch about us whilst decorating the tree.
