help needed wiring in a smart thermostat
Discussion
can anyone help me please , i recently bought a Nest learning thermostat and im a bit stumped when it comes to wiring it in
i sort of know my way around basic electrics but its confused me when i found it is wired with 4 core plus earth wire .
I have got a worcester greenstar 28i boiler and it is connected through a serviceplus s17 timer ( i dont need that so i plan to take it out and simplify the wiring ) and has a wired thermostat in a different room , here is a picture of the wiring diagram for the boiler -
here is a wiring diagram for the nest thermostat and heat link ( ill be using the thermostat wirelessly so wont be using my exsisting thermostat wiring )
id be extremely grateful if someone could point out which wires i need to connect , thanks in advance

Hi there, thanks for the diagram it was very helpful. One last question i have an earth cable coming from the boiler and one coming from the mains is there a spot i can connect these to or will i just cap them and leave them be?
earth cables typically aren't shown on functional diagrams, but earth continuity must be maintained throughout, if what you're connecting doesn't have an earth terminal as it doesn't need an earth (eg made of plastic) pop any earths together in a connector block and tuck out the wayI wired my Worcester 24i Junior Combi up as above. Everything appeared to be working well for a day and this morning I have the dreaded red flashing light.
It appears to be Ignition lockout. Any ideas?
The boiler has an older click timer which i have just set to 'permanently on'. As I say, with this set up it was all going well but now I appear to have a problem.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Anyone got a photo of their Heat Link Wiring? It's the link between L to 2 that I want to get right!
I think the diagram is slightly misleading in that it doesn't show the live and neutral going in to the heatlink from the mains supply.2 just requires a permanent live, same as 5 if you have the Nest V3. Use some Wago connectors if you want to make life a bit easier.
