It's looks alright in the pictures, but would I want to live with one in the sitting room? Anyone have one, or something similar?

Is your lounge an indian restaurant?

If so then yes - it's much classier than a 6 foot golden lion.

Edit - FML, I'm way too slow to post. At least I'm in agreement with that guy (^) even if I can't type that fast.

Seems like it must be the Indian restaurant decor of choice as I was about to post exactly the same thing!

No wish to convert my sitting room into a restaurant of any type, but I like coloured lights and I like movement. I have enough good taste and class to be able to cope with a single faux pas de decor smile

Singlecoil,

I'm not one to judge. Really, I have no ability to. When I was 8, I thought a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tracksuit was dashing. However, when I was 6 I also knew that making one's front room look like a cheap take away is not a minor faux pas - it's domestic suicide.

I think my 5 year old daughter would love that in her room.

Wouldn't be my choice for a sitting room. Light and movement would lead me to some sort of fish tank, but can appreciate that it's not for everyone with the maintenance and so on...

Comparisons with Indian establishments are lost on me, I've only been in such a place twice in my life, and the last time was at least 26 years ago.

EB's suggestion of a fish tank is one I would greatly prefer, but don't have enough spare time to deal with the maintenance. But anything which would provide the colours and some movement, ideally both random, would be well received.

I've seen places that have an entire wall of similar between office and reception and thought it looked good. Not 100% if a smaller plugin unit would have the same impact.

or one of those pictures of a tiger, or elephant where it appears to move ever so slightly if you move your head from side to side. Often they plug in and have a waterfall or some such in the background.
