Not surprised, I'd also be embarrassed if I owned it! laugh
They are a funny looking car, sort of a bit hot-rod or sevenesq from the front at the right angle, but not pretty from the rear or side, hint of vw bug in their, a bit like a cartoon car certain angles. But largely unresolved. Amusing references to the dodge viper in the wiki article.

Hoovie from Hoovies Garage had one and I was way more impressed than I thought I'd be.

Seemed to be some half decent engineering involved, inboard dampers etc.

And it went pretty well after a bit of fettling even with the auto box.

I’ve always fancied a Prowler, just never got around to owning one yet.

The biggest issue for me vis-a-vis a Prowler was the total lack of luggage space (maybe enough for a spare pair of socks skiddies for the weekend). The other issue was the lack of a V8 - I might have been able to live with it given a little more practicality but here I am Prowlerless

Worse for luggage than a seven type?

Struggling to get my head around why anyone would pay close to 30k for one of those.

The Prowler came at a time when there was a bit of nostalgia amongst US car makers.
It was an echo of the post war hot rods.

I’m sure the concept car would have had a V8 and have been a good deal meaner than what eventually survived the bean-counters to roll out onto the streets.

As it is, it’s a bit of fun and good luck to the bloke if he wants to drive something different.

Did you not know? You can only drive a PH approved car.

It must be RWD, manual, 6 cylinder NA, 600 bhp and from the right manufacturer.
It must also be under 10k and blow every other car out of the weeds, because no one ever drives without dominating their lane at all times.

Other opinions may exist ;-)

Single garages rairly make a good room.

My partners parents did it, so the children could practice musical instruments and do homework etc, the room was that unpleasant she stopped playing her musical instrument and revised in her room.

horses for courses I guess - the ONLY reason that I would have for buying a golf would be luggage capacity. As an empty-nester (or indeed if I were a single man) the golf wouldn't get anywhere near a list of cars I'd like to own

And here is the solution! This setup is for sale about 45 mins from me, 62k miles under $20k

rofl

It doesn’t look like the prowler has a hitch...or if it does, it’s not fitted!

Come on Moose - i think I'd rather have a Golf! hurl

This, on the other hand, works as a trailer - though I'd rather have a decent sized boot!

Never really understood the Prowler hate. I think it's a good effort -- obvs would be better with a V8 and hopefully you can take the ugly bumpers off. Started a phase of retro styled cars including the Ford Thunderbird (the Foose Speedbird version looks good) and the Chevrolet SSC.
