Hahaha, no problem at all

When is the target completion date? Have you kept to original schedule/budget aside from spec changes made by you?

Five spaces indoors remaining. Phew, there's a long list of possibles. A few that spring to mind are below. These are just things that interest me though. I'm undecided tbh.

A 964 Porsche of some description. Wide bodied, probably a lightweight version.
Porsche 356 coupe
430 Scuderia (although prices are getting dafter and dafter)
Original Fiat Abarth or mk1 cooper s
Mercedes 190SL
70s Celica (but would be a project to build a modified concourse one)
I keep coming back to the White mk1 escort at Cheshire classic cars but 80k is a lot for it
Mk1 golf gti
Aventador
I have an LOI in at Porsche Leeds for the, maybe, possible, will it come GT4
I check the web for interesting Alfas on a near daily basis. They built some great cars in the old days.
Cobra Daytona Coupe
80s/90s Fezza
Ferrari 246
Volvo p1800s
599 or an f12 (when/if prices drop as I would use that regularly)
For sentimental reasons I would love a mk1 Astra gte, preferably red. But they're scarce.

Dunno. Open to suggestions. :-)

I would love to do the Peking Paris classic rally too but right now I haven't the time. When the kids go though, a car from RPS and an entry in that would be awesome.

have you 'only' bought the Escort since 24th January?
any more new arrivals pending?
an Astra GTE or Golf GTI would be brilliant to go alongside some of the others. The prices of some of the cars you mention (especially Dino) have gone bonkers lately

Never really liked them. I think a hot hatch of some type and something that needs goggles and is chuckable. D type replica maybe, or something from the 40s with 2 seats. MG J2.

Tbh I'm not buying anything else this year. Need time to finish the build, get some track days in, get to some shows and drive what I have.

End of the month for the build then early May for the alarm and cctv and delivery of the pool table etc.

Budget is bang on except where I've changed things. I've added a glass wall instead of solid wall between the games room and garage, a monitored alarm instead of standard and a few other things.

Just got back from a family day out at Chester Zoo (F*cking M62 - 92 miles - four and a half bloody hours) and went down to look at the garage. the four lifts are in now and I immediately realised that the murals aren't going to work. The 6.5m one down the side wall will be hidden by the cars there too much and the ones that are the back won't really be seen much as there is only a 2.2m space in front of them and side on, you just won't see them.

Think I'm going to cancel that and move my Tim Layzell paintings down to the new garage from the main garage.

I'll just buy some new paintings to go with the one I bought at the revival last year for the games room and put some more of the marque emblems up as per the link below in the main garage (I have the alfa and ferrari ones already). Bit disappointed as in my mind they would have looked superb, but its obvious now the murals wouldn't work. :-(

Have you thought about putting large mirrors in place of the murals? Will reflect the light ont the cars and will let you see different angles on each.

Also useful for checking lights and lining up when driving in and out and onto ramps.

Considered mirrors but decided against them. Bugger to keep clean and I preferred some nice car paintings.

It's been like an anthill today. Builders finishing the roof and other details, sparky all over it wiring and the security guys wiring in the CCTV and Monitored Alarm system.

Sorted the heating system question, paving and tiles arrive Monday, lifts will be finished fitting on Monday too. Electric outdoor heaters that will hang down in the overhang where the seating will go arrived too.

They oiled the Oak today. Looks fantastic.

Seems very soon to be putting tiles down on a new slab/screed. When was the floor pored?

Far too soon to lay the tiles. Delivered and laid are two different things. Not finished wiring not plasterboarded yet. Or plastered, or painted it.

Ok, that's good.

Sorry, just re-read my last post, didn't mean it to be so blunt.

Not at all mate. I'm at kids football so tapping away on iPhone isnt ideal.

8-1 up in a league game. U14s. More fun than any car. :-)

Not surprised at the score line but isn't that cheating a bit? How do you play and use your iPhone at the same time?

I suspect the bigger problem would be being 31 years too old for under 14s. I might pass for under 40s, no chance on under 14s. They Ash Blonde streaks in my hair would be a dead giveaway.

Re: oiling the oak. Reoil at least twice as often as the pack says. The oil dries out, lets water in and the wood goes black. It's a bugger to sand out and retreat.

Had this problem with my gates and they now look s@@t.

Gutted...
