Was there really any need to quote all the photos when you are posting directly under it?

Garage looks fantastic. You're a lucky lad!

the 'shed' is better looking than my current prefab garage already, and only half a meter smaller in width as well!

Err, there's another shed, a bike shed and a log store round the back too.

A man can't have too many sheds/garages/den's/games rooms IMO.

So how's that £10 bet looking? Practiced yet?

My monaro has gone now and my new barge has self parking (apparently - somewhere within the 550 page manual), i should imagine it would just tell me to fk off! (but in Japanese)

Ayup Nick.

Im paying out early. No way the M3 will fit through that gap. The Alfa and Abarth on the other hand could do through sideways!

Yeah I saw the post on FB. Looks like a proper bit of kit mate. Looking forward to having a nosey at it.

Paul was up today, "we" swapped the top gasket on the RS1600.

new shed to replace the old wooden one has started. Bigger so I don't have to store any crap in the garages. 4m x 2.5m although it doesn't look it in this pic.

[/quote]

What foundations have you used for the shed Leg? Have you dug out strip foundations and blocked them before starting with the bricks? Also what are you doing for the shed floor, looks like bare mud at the moment?

I'm about to build something very similar so interested to know.

Simon

I used builders mate.

The process is:

1. Rich wants shed
2. Rich draws shed
3. Rich shows Wayne drawing
4. Rich says 'want shed, build that, how much?'
5. Wayne says number
6. Rich says 'ok'
7. Wayne builds shed
8. Rich goes for brew and look at cars on interweb
9. Shed built
10. Rich has shed.

Concrete floor now in. I think they laid concrete foundations.

I'll post more pics later.

Few more pictures.

Shed. Now finished except doors (we're going to make those out of the same oak that the ceiling of the overhang is made from on the garage) and shelving to go inside. This'll store fuel cans, helmets, my bikes, track day gear etc. Got a bike shed and another shed already round the back (past that bin there's a yard to the left) for general crap and kids bikes so this one is strictly mine (and not for dumping crap in). The entrance is 1400mm wide at the moment (be less once the door frame and door are in. I was tempted to sneak the Abarth in as it's only 1320mm wide!

We're going to continue the paving along from in front of the garages so it covers the front of the shed and then create a path over to the new covered decking/BBQ. On the other side of the decking the path will continue but in the same flags as the covered area at the new garage.

Oak ceiling on the overhang is finished but needs oiling to match the beams and posts. Its the same oak so it should look superb. Sparky has started fitting the downlights now which will be white light LEDs with brushed aluminium spot surrounds. Flags now all "grouted".

Garage is now all plastered bar some minor bits. I got up and measured the clearance for cars above and there's 2m in the centre of each lift, 1.5m at the back and 1.8m at the front. Then I measured that tallest two cars I have, my Model A Phaeton and the GT3RS997.2 (due to the rear wing) and there's plenty of room for any car short of a 4x4.

Each of the "sections" down the left of this picture (4 of them) will have one of my Tim Layzell prints in it with a wash light on.

The hatch in the far end will have a door on it and leads to a storage area. I went up and it has dawned on me that a rather large Scalextric would fit up there.........

Garage from the other side. The far wall at the end of the walkway will also have a wash light on it and my fifth Tim Layzell print.

Games room into the corner where the fitted "diner" style seating and table will go. I've ordered a 2.72m x 2m corner set of seating from ChairsGB in their "Funky" style in Alba red material and black frame with a black table with chrome legs and chrome seats in matching material. 4-6 week lead time on that though. :-( Big red fridge to go to the right there. Picture shown below that is currently in the other garage will go on the wall above the seating.

Other side of the games room. Large TV to go in the middle of the left hand wall (wide angle lens skews the pictures as that wiring you can see on the wall is actually dead centre). SKY are round on Monday to fit a HD box in there and the gym with a new dish. Ive got 4 Klauss Wagger paintings coming to go down the right hand wall (you can see the wires hanging own for the wash lights for them). Pool table yet to order although Ive got the table tennis table.

Another picture of outside, this time outside the gym and bi folding doors. The supplier cocked up the fittings and did gold so are coming back to swap for chrome. Lights have been wired and will match the ones I mentioned earlier in front of the bays. Hot tub will go here and brick/oak seating is being built in along that far wall and up to the outdoor socket (grey box on the right of the doors). Grey switches are waterproof switches for the two pendant heaters that will hang here (not above the hot tub!). More sockets on the left.

Boxing in on the oak is done now and frames for the garage doors in.

Floor tiles for the garage and games room. 800x800 porcelain ones. These are polished so I can get nice reflections of the cars but it makes them unsuitable for the gym as people will undoubtedly nip from the hot tub to the loo in there and also there is a shower (i.e. polished = slippy). So we have different tiles for the gym with a bit more colour in them.

That's it for now. As you can imagine I'm as excited as a fat kid that just got locked in a cake factory overnight.

Plenty happening next week!

Have you put wooden plugs in the nail holes on the 'bracing' on the posts?
