Fecking awesome...

It's bigger than my house smile

The only thing I'd change is the position of the hot tub...

It should be in a position where you can view the contents of your garage biggrin

Hoping to be finished in about 3 weeks. Cars should be able to go in within 1 though. We're on to details now.

Meeting with the builder tomorrow morning to go through a few decisions.

Nice brick, nice frame. Wrong tile. Apologies, I get a bit anal over roofs.

And yet not anal about observation. Right tile. Matches my house and the other houses in the village and for that matter, 90% of the houses in York.

What is the 'drive' going to be? If it's loose stuff, you'll drag it all into the garages.

Just gravel. Forget what it's called but the very small stuff that compacts.

The traditional gravel I have at the main house doesn't come into the main garage. It drops on the flags. I just sweep it back occasionally. The smaller stuff hardly picks up at all.

Leg, I have followed this build from the start, don't think I've commented yet. Your vision, and now reality is exactly what I'd be doing (apart from the gym, I don't do exercise) and I have to praise your input and builders for such a lovely build. Croft have done well. I can't wait to see the finished object, with all the cars and murals in there.

Youve worked hard, and have an amazing car house to show for it. Fair play to you sir

Resin bonded gravel...

I have gravel in front of my garage and I feckin' hate it. It gets dragged under the doors, preventing them from shutting. You can't sweep/rake the leaves off it. It isn't great for washing cars on. Horrid stuff.

Thanks for the comments above.

Ive not had any problems with the gravel at the main garage.

I won't be in and out of this one though. Ill pick a car to use, use it in and out of the main garage and clean it before putting it back in this new garage. Ive left a bay spare at the main one specifically for that purpose.

Yo dawg! We heard you liked garages, so we gave you a garage to clean your car in before putting it in the garage.

lol. Problem is if you use a different car every day you spend all weekend washing the bloody things so I tend to have the big Merc and the Boxster generally on the go all the time and then choose one of the others for the week to play out in. Then I "have" to wash one car with the option of washing the Boxster (Merc gets 12 washes a year tops, it looks better dirty anyway).

My lad, 17 still on an L plate, just reversed 6 inches into my trailer in his Adam. Lucky little bugger got away with no damage to either but you should have seen his face when he saw me stood on the drive looking at him with that special Dad "really?" look on my face. He won't do that again.

As is the way with Mum's before I said anything Mrs Leg piped up, "When your Dad was 17 he ran into the side of Grandad's house". Cheers love (its true).

It is a Dad thing I know, Number 2 popped back from uni last week and she is like stig of the dump and her 04 mini is no better, it was a minter this time last year and would qualify for 'what can I get for a bag of sand' now.... it comes too easy for them most days!

Your garage, dear sir, creates dreams for the normal man.....

I am that normal man and you're right, it is a dream. Just been down there and all that I hear in my head is "Holy st, holy st, thats mine, wow!".

Just off to do a favour for a friend of a neighbour. He's getting married today and thinks he is driving to the church in his own car. His face should be a picture when I rock up in the 458 Spider. :-)

Well that was good fun. Rolled up outside the chap's house, he had no idea. As far as he knew he was driving his Volvo to the venue.

Took him for a spin. Had a chat and then drove him to the venue. His face was a picture when I hopped out and told him to drive the old jalopy up the private lane to the place.

Hopefully added a smile to someone's face. What goes around comes around too. Turns out he is into Canoeing and Kayaking and Ive been planning to get into that when I finish work. Now Ive got someone to show me the ropes. Nice.

Crappy iphone pic of him driving it up the lane.
