Hi guys,

I have three of these down the side of the house. All three have bulb failure and need replacing.

I thought it would be a piece of piss until I saw there was no screws!

I assume some sort of key is needed?

Yes. They usually look like a screwdriver with a flat plate welded to the end and a little prong at each side. It's easy enough to make something out of a small sheet of metal.

JYeah they are security screws, I have some and they came with a small metal plate with a notch out of the middle to fit.

Looking like a larger one of these:

If you can get a little bit of metal and a file you could make one, or you could try a pair of long nose pliers in the opposing notches

The ones on the light fittings are usually larger than the ones in those kits.

If all else fails, maybe use an easy out (screw extractor).

I tried googling, found sites showing numerous types of screw heads, but yours wasn't there, very strange.

If all else fails, screwdriver of correct width and a file. I've done that before now.

You may even be able to get enough pressure with your thumb to turn them.
