Hi Guys, has anyone ever bought "graded appliances (washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer ect) by graded i mean new but with the odd scratch on them and seeing as they are integrated then the scratches/marks rant seen.
Either Whirlpool or Bosch so decent makes, but a lot cheaper, just wondered if anyone on here has bought any of these goods ?

Our built in fridge/freezer is a Whirlpool and we got an absolute load knocked off (can't remember now, it was several years ago, but 140 quid rigs a bell) because it had a scrape on the side. Er... it's built in, you can't see the sides, the next time it'll see the light of day is when we change the kitchen or it breaks down. Mad.

I've always bought graded appliances - far cheaper and often undamaged or with damage that is invisible once installed. The only difficulty we've found is that if you want everything from a matching range, you have to be prepared to travel and/or wait for particular items to come up for sale. Saying that, if you use one of the bigger traders they might carry enough stock for you to grab everything at once.

We recently installed a kitchen and fitted it out with Hotpoint Luce appliances (Single oven, combi microwave, gas hob and extractor). RRP would have been something like £3000 but we paid half that and there isn't a mark on any of it.

Turning up in person can also be an advantage - you can see for yourself what the condition is like and haggle accordingly.
