Thought i would tag onto this thread instead of starting a new one.

We're having a composite front door fitted, chosen company, highly recommended local firm etc.

We've got a quote for a Stop Door for just over £1k, or a solidor for £200 more.

Both look pretty much the same, but the Stop Door is a foam structure with GRP coating, the Solidor is timber structure with 'thermal plastic' coating.

Is the Solidor worth the £200 extra? I'm thinking yes tbh, thoughts?
Had mine fitted in May, very happy

Just about to order a double Solidor as from our research they were the best combination of quality and cost and the feedback I've managed to find has been positive.

The only thing going for the more expensive option is we'd have a super secure front door, but standard double glazing French doors round the back, so any thief with half a brain would go through those instead.

They're always going to get in if they want to. You just need to make it harder than they can be bothered with.
