Key snapped in lock and we have no idea where the spare is (luckily the door was unlocked).

So need to replace lock.

It, and another door, have the locks the came with and I have heard about bumping. We have an alarm.

Any recommendations on replacement? I heard good things about the Maxus 3 Star TS007 but welcome comments.

Recently fitted some Avocet ABS cylinders to my front door and 2 sets of french doors. Difficult to comment on how good they are other than they function very well so far! Not cheap mind you.

Main thing is to get them correctly sized to have minimum amount protruding from the door.

You want to purchase a set of HOPPE solid handles to ensure ultimate security, weakest point past that will be the glass and its uncommon these days for the thriving sts to try get through double glazing

Ive replace all mine with Avocet ABS locks. Its a 2 minute job. Remove the old lock, measure from the screw hole in the middle to the inside end of the lock, and then to th outside side of the lock. Mine were 45mm each side, but some locks are longer one way than the other.

I've got the ABS locks too, keyed alike.. Very happy with them.

Remember if you're using your current handles that the lock wants to be as flush as possible to the handle..

My old ones stuck out around 5mm!

I've just done the ABS avocet swap. Keyed alike is great. I like the Avocet key too, less of a pocket shredder than some.

Great service by post from these people:

I'm not building a fortress, just wanted decent locks.
