It was just concrete. I would go with the concrete you have if at all possible. I doubt the resin would crack but I think sticking it to a surface which cannot move or flex would be better.

Unfortunately I have wooden floorboards so need a new base.

The resin isn't absolutely brittle so I think you should be ok from a cracking point of view.

Have you thought about pebble resin floor too?



I have pebble resin tiles (on wall in wet room bit) and sink in my bathroom and it looks excellent.

Yeah I will just put plenty of screws into the floorboards to secure them before securely putting down a no more ply or something base.

Just make sure the floor is completely level, you need at 5mm of coverage all over and allow for any height differences in your resin calculations. It goes without saying make sure the well into which you are pouring it is completely watertight as the resin is reasonably fluid and will run away through any gaps.

One for Speed, Plod & Law - is this legal?

It does look good. Got me thinking about making a box to mould a sink splash back.

Seeing as they have it is restaurants, bars etc I cannot see it being illegal!
