That's a bit what mine looked like yesterday, the broken deck, I have no welding gear available, but I did have an angle grinder an old satellite dish and 5 suitable nuts and bolts, oh and not to forget a 1lb ball pein hammer. Before:

Good effort! I did consider something like that for mine but there isn't much solid metal left to bolt bits to so I bottled it.This is the result :-)

The extra drilled hole is testament to the lack of material to bolt to Lol
I filled all the remaining holes underneath with some fibreglass type paste that I found in the garage.
Top bodging at its best 😁
