Rang HSE & they said use wet rags on the dust that can be seen or a class H hoover.

Think I'll wipe round it all before giving it to a valeter to spruce up.

All the seats are in the garage so they weren't affected.

Hopefully this is a bit more positive...

What do we think

The perfect test. If it's full of asbestos, it won't light.

At the house I have recently moved to, there's a container full of sand down the smaller side passage that I think may be DIY made out of corrugated asbestos. It's whiter than the roof shown in OP's pic, more like the light cream/grey colour of the asbestos heat proof mats in school. I'll post a picture later, interested to see what PH makes of it.

People who had health issues with asbestos either worked with it or worked where it was present for many years.

Similarly passing someone on the street who's smoking isn't going to give you lung cancer.
Ignorance is bliss.

Some workers wives got asbestos related diseases from the husbands clothing coming home/washing them. Working where there is asbestos still happens now and is not a problem if it isn't disturbed.

From a single exposure the risk of it developing into something nasty is low, but not good for children or smokers to be exposed to it due to the greater risk it poses to them.

Asbestos made it into pretty much everything back in the day, crayons, paper, concrete, coatings, etc, etc, oh and even cigarettes.

Probably best all-round summary of the situation.

I've made my mind up.

Time for a car swap... Or hoping an ollortune moment comes for a asbestos looking car thief

I'm afraid that isn't true. Depends whether you are talking about normal lung cancer or mesiothelioma. The second one is the most dangerous and not dose related.

Google silver sand.
I meant the container for the sand appears to be a DIY effort created out of what may possibly be asbestos.

Its not ignorance... If you look at how many people used to mine it, and how they used to do it - with jackhammers, picks, rock crushers etc - then the percentage of people with problems is relatively small. They still mine it these days, and its still used in some products.

A lot of fuss about very little risk. Especially with the exposure the OP has had, there are 101 things in the world more likely to kill him. Cement sheets are one of the safest forms.

Im with Condi on this you have had basically no exposure to what you may think may be asbestos.
Hoover the car out and carry on, I have had more exposure as an apprentice at the industrial site I was on, and im not worried.
