Weighing up our options for a new bathroom we'll be having put in within the next few months.

Our existing shower is an electric one but we had a new Combi boiler out in about 2 years ago. Are we better to connect the new shower to the boiler or keep the existing electric arrangement? Is there a benefit of one over the other?

mixer valve connected to combi, will last longer (much), and have much more flow, think power shower with out the need for a pump.

The only advantage an electric shower has over a mixer, is that if the boiler fails, you still have a means of showering.

Other than that, mixer every time.

We've just put a mixer in to run off the combi to replace the existing electric shower - huge improvement.
