Well the plan is for a 2 storey side extension with a 3/4 garage,larger kitchen downstairs and a 4th bedroom and family bathroom upstairs.On a £50k budget.Planning has been approved and 120 tonnes of ste already removed to make way.Pics to follow soon.

No going back now.



Part of the side garden has to be removed and we underestimated just how much ste there were.110 tonnes in all

Quick question guys gonna have 2 upstairs windows(1 in bathroom 1 in bedroom).Do they both have to be fire escapes or just 1?Thanks.

Looks like great progress, and a lovely setting!

I believe that you only need one fire escape on the first floor - with our build, we will have two bedroom windows on the back over the single storey roof at the back, so are making both identical (and both fire-escapes), but we had no requirement to when we submitted plans for planning, or building regs. Might be worth having a word with your building control inspector when they are on site just to be sure.
