Howdens Discount from %

Forget the discount, it's intended to mislead and confuse. Just look at the product and look at the actual price (not the joke price) and decide if the money they are asking is reasonable for the items they are offering.
One of the best discounts I get from a supplier is 99.9% discount. It is crazy.I signed up with them and the first kitchen I had them quote their price was 12.5k excluding worktops. Told em they were way out and hung up.
Next day I get a call offering 2k off. Still way out on another quote. Told em to shove it as I hate those type of sales tactics. I was told on the first day that 12.5k was the very best price they could do as it was their most expensive kitchen. I told em I had no idea that it was their most expensive kitchen as there is no indication of price. Another few days and another 1500 off.
In the end went with DIY kitchens and got the lot including granite tops for just shy of 7k.
I would say 50% off first order is achievable, with further discounts of subsequent orders.

Thanks for your prompt replies. I keep hearing that I should aim for 70%+ discounts from Howdens I just don't know what discount they are currently giving me.Elster do you think they are cuurently giving me about 60%?
I think so, I don't have my account anymore since moving abroad, otherwise I would have checked for you.The do normally list the discount. If you ask they will tell you. How else will you know it is ok to sell on?

Howdens discount is structured on previous purchases i think.
If you go in as a new customer you wont get the same discount as one who has bought from them before.
Which kinda makes sense.
I've bought a few kitchens from Howdens and got another quote last week - I always get 70% unless there is some extra promotion on.If you go in as a new customer you wont get the same discount as one who has bought from them before.

The Estimate clearly states the discount rate on it.
£70+VAT for a 1000 base unit seems ok and they don't wriggle if there's an issue / bits missing or I need extra units later.
