We have a Bosch WTE84106GB_WH condenser and it is outstanding. And, only £300. Very simple, easy to clean, and doesn't seem to destroy clothes.

We have a two month old Miele TKB440WP and love it. Quiet and quick! That and it matches the washing machine looks-wise which is paramount!

OP, is it really worth spending more on a posh machine?

You will be very lucky to get 15+ trouble free years whatever you pay. Personally I'm a massive LG fan (top end stuff)' All our white goods (black actually wink ) are LG. Few problems with the ten year old washing machine but dead easy and cheap to DIY fix. Tumble drier is five years old and has just started to come up with a false "empty water error" even though the container is by-passed to drain into the sink waste!! It'll be fixed for pennies when I get round to it.

I spent £250 (inc. delivery) on a White Knight from an appliances website and I must say it is absolute ste and has made the most horrendous noise since we first used it. The only reason I still have it is because I live in a top floor flat (penthouse) but I have been tempted to fling it off the balcony on more than one occasion. Spend a bit more or you'll end up a bitter resentful old like me

I suppose my own machinery proves that cheap stuff can be good too... I just want the 'guaranteed' longevity this time around. The outlaws are using 25+ year old Miele stuff too, I suppose I should just get that.
Nothing is guaranteed is it? You're better spending £300 on a drier and expecting it to last 8 years - and then pleased when it lasts 10, than spending £1000 on something which you hope will last 25 and dies after 17. The price of replacement parts often makes the repair uneconomic, on expensive and cheap brands.

K

We have two Miele dryers (Condenser) one at home, one in our clinic. They both get relentless use...especially the one in the clinic, which is going all day... always work, always great results..
But noone has mentioned that they make a really nice noise... a sort of heart beat... and then a very satisfactory rhythm...

Go for Miele...

I have a Miele condenser - not much to say about it, other than it works well and the fluff filters are very easy to clean! Had no issues with it. And it hasn't tried to burn the house down (yet) like the previous cheapie one ! I think I've had it about 4 years so far. Possibly slightly longer.

Not been so impressed with the Miele washing m/c which still snags clothes occasionally despite its special honeycomb drum thing frown

Thanks to those (few) that have genuinely helped.

Ill be taking a close look at the Miele pump models (or maybe a condenser, not sure). Just to be clear, we've played the cheap model bargain bingo and dont want to do it again.
Heat Pump machines are condensers, just more efficient ones.

Digital innit, costs more but all those 1s and 0s really look after your clothes. You must go digital if you want to keep up with the Joneses and their beautifully dry clothes.
