Planning to build a shed to put my home gym in soon. The base will be 3m x 3.75m and consist of 100mm MOTY type 1, DPM and then 100mm of C25 concrete. I was thinking of doing it myself and have priced it up at around £350. I was thinking of getting someone in to do it for me though if it isn't going to be too rediculous so any ideas on how much a groundworks company would charge to do this?

Scroll to section "Pricing Guide" near the bottom and there is an Excel file with a calculator.

Your DIY price seems about right for the size of the base given I have recently completed a larger base at proportionally more cost. Don't forget mixer hire and you need timber for formwork. What are you doing with what comes out of the hole?

Just remember that a Metre of concrete weighs about 2.4 Tonnes. Might not sound a lot but believe me after about the 15th wheelbarrow you wish you had got some one else to do it.
