I know an employer that spent £30k on a bespoke lift about 10 years ago for a disabled employee.

Before they finished it he'd jumped ship to a rival firm.

It was always sealed off with black/yellow tape so I don't think they ever used it.

If it's a Local Authority block their own procurement rules would not allow them to single source this, they'd have to get three prices.

I agree with the ball park figures above, with a bit for management and professionals / design fees too. The OPs freeholder is way off and should provide a breakdown to start with, at best it feels like there is other work they're not telling you about.

All of our new build 2 storey blocks have a lift. Total cost is never more than £60k. Platform lifts are cheaper but slower.

does it actually need a new lift. 2 blocks I'm involved with at the moment have totally refurbished their lifts due to the cost of a new lift, to be in them you wouldn't know it wasn't a brand new lift.

Thanks for the additional posts, it's actually over 187k as the council add on a 15% "admin fee".

Will draft a letter to them later...
