Another week and more small steps of progress...

Hallway is now fully stripped ready for plaster - it will be a way off as I want to finish bedrooms and work down and out of the house now.

One of the cats showed a vague interest but I can never be sure

And good news!

Woodland nursery...

Can't get much more woodland than that!!!!

So i've hit the point i'll refer to as "The Suck".

I'm tired, and worn out... and all despite good progress being made the current phase of stripping wallpaper and chopping off plaster is beginning to get to me.

It will be worth it, its just monotonous and feels like swimming through treacle.

To strip this one room and hack off the plaster that had settlement cracks in it has taken in excess of 6 hours.

Plan today is to tidy up and box some pipes in, fix down the floor and then call the plasterer and get him booked to sort it!!!

The prep phase always seems to be the worst, at least when you're starting to get the paint on it feels like progress.

Prep, taking of wallpaper, cleaning up, carrying rubble away take a lot longer than you think!

Enjoying, keep it up!

(as in you do all the hard graft, I will sit here, beer in hand, and watch for your updates! drink )

Great work, I really like the kitchen and bathroom transformations.
You're really organised regarding the nursery, our baby is due in 7 weeks and we've only really started on it in the last fortnight. Still got the cot to paint but it's getting there. The wallpaper is ace, our's is too small for anything like that.

Back with some updates!

Purple back room has been boarded ready to be plastered next week...

Nursery is now 85% done - and the first room with new carpet! Pure luxury!

Bought all the furniture in it second hand and up cycled it with paint etc, the hessian bunting was left overs from our wedding!

And today I managed to get the gates up - they should be painted this week to match the front door and sign etc etc

That looks great.

I thought that the picture on the wall would look terrible but it's brilliant!

Thanks for the compliment - I wasn't sure about it but went with the gut feeling.

Back to stripping paper today and removing old furniture - with a sledgehammer

After my success "up cycling " some nursery furniture it's now become a side project to the house as a whole.

Needed some bedside cabinets for the spare room...

£40 for both from eBay...

The inspiration

And so far...

Try and get some more progress the next couple of days - should end up sub £60 for 2 solid wood cabinets.

Also gate has been painted , had a run around getting an exact match to the front door (pictured pages back) so ended up getting as close as we could

I'm happy with them... Neighbours don't seem overly keen , luckily I'm not fussed and they'll soon get over it.

Topps or Tile Giant - I've got about 1/3 sqM left of each if you're not looking for a huge amount

To be fair they've been good as gold since we moved in - I'm putting it down to a bad day at work!

Reality is the street has a lot of older people who've lived there for 10+ years and now some much younger people have moved into the worst house on the street and brought it upto scratch - feathers have definitely been ruffled.

Good news is whilst I was at work the gardeners been and chopped down the tree in the front garden - nothing personal but it flowers for about a week and it's over with. Also gives our house cats a better view from their room!!

Also the wife despite being 6 months pregnant has decided to strip the wallpaper in the main bedroom after I spent this morning Volvo'ing the inherited furniture to the tip
