Here goes a few more pictures to bring it up to date. This has been one long slog of a build.

The floor paint going on (scratched already and I'm not happy it will need another coat):

The start of the racking to make it messy again!

Now the shed comes down so the drive can go in 3 skips later:

The drive is going down in January. The guy came today and we have agreed a black edging stone all round (so he can set his levels) and 2 layers of tarmac. He is cutting my front drive down so the cars don't catch which the MG currently does.

Anyway here is a pic with it full of the st from the shed. Not happy ruined the lines. However budget prevails.

Starting on upstairs next week.

Yes I had to drop the garage door rails onto acro props and batten underneath them then plasterboard. The worst board took me a day to do it was a nightmare.

You have done a superb job of this - the garage looks great.

Thanks. I'm going to venture upstairs today and make a start. This has been a much bigger job than I expected. I thought it would be a doddle after spending 5 years re-building the house. Having said that this is nearly a house having put in central heating and a bathroom.

How old is the builder btw?

Great thread, very interesting. I came across it looking for a pic of my own garage, thought your build was mine, but realized yours was bigger and more cubic quids in it, but it certainly brings back happy memories of building mine.

I left my garage behind some seven years ago, when we moved to the Philippines, but we are back now, so I shall be reinstalling myself in it very soon. biggrin

Great work but minor question; why no lift/ pit?
