Looking to get some Miele or Siemens appliances. Wondered if there is a place that people would recommend where the prices are better than say, walking into John Lewis?

There is a Miele outlet store near Abingdon where they sell off old stock/ranges.

Not sure exactly where it is but I'm sure a quick Google would help thumbup

I did look at that but the outlet stuff doesn't come with the normal warranty.

bought my last Miele bit from John Lewis. Their 5 year warranty option made their total price the best

That's good to know, I intended to go and have a look when refitting my last kitchen but went for Neff instead.
The warranty they provide is a large part of their product.

Miele offer the 10 year warranty etc because there isn't much chance of using it.......

We've had Miele products for a while and no issues at all.

We got our Siemens washing machine from John Lewis in 2005 with a 10 year warranty and it's not given us any trouble... Perhaps I shouldn't have written that, the warranty expired in March!!!!

Bought our Siemens ovens from Appliances Direct, they were cheapest at the time but it was about 5 years ago.

Bought Miele and Siemens stuff from Hi-Spek in St Albans and they are somewhat negotiable on the listed prices, especially if buying multiple items.

Don't the Mieale washing machines or some of them at least come with 25 year warranty/they used to.

Apparently the hub on the washing machine was superior to that of a Mini car.... So your 5-10kg washing simply couldn't wear it out.

As others have said Ofher brands sometimes offer long warranties + buy via john Lewis we did that cheekily for some buy to let's and as it turned out one went in its last year of 5 years so got another brand new one which came with another 5 year warranty. The other still going strong.

We go for LG direct drive or Bosch washing machines not yet upper the £ for the better brands yet .... I'm sure the wife would if she had the chance.

If you're buying more than one appliance try Euronics, they will match prices but also give discounts for multiple purchases unlike John Lewis and AO etc... Kitchen suppliers often do good deals too if you know what you want etc

JLewis will match anyone and is usually the cheapest anyway.

Just a quick Q - why Miele or Siemens appliances?

I appreciate there's some instances where paying for 'brands' is worthwhile (I don't go far past Makita tools for example) but appliances and white goods is never an area where I've felt the benefit of big brand names.

I'm hoping my new kitchen will last atleast 15 years. Would like the appliances to last atleast half that time.

Do see your point though because I do have, for example a cake mixer that I bought from Lidl on their weekly specials for £3! And even with weekly use its lasted 15 years...

But don't want the hassle of pulling white goods out. And if 'you get what you pay for' is anything to go by then I'd rather fit in some reassurance.

Bought a Miele vacuum cleaner from JL (click and collect). It was amongst the cheapest, but I'd have bought from JL anyway due to past experience with their service.

I'm not sure if this is me imagining things but the Miele stuff seems really "built to last"

Only just seen this. I bought a Miele vacuum cleaner this morning from John Lewis as they were £50 off and the cheapest I could find.
