Just had this done... Total cost just under £3k inc VAT

Stove was £850 (Yeoman Exe 2-door 5kW)
Labour plus CO detector £500

So over half the cost was the parts required to create the flue which all adds up - the ECO ICID is fairly expensive.

looking at this stove,

Seems the twin walled flu is where the money is spent,

Anyone know decent installers/suppliers in Essex ?

I've just put two twin wall up at mine, one for the AGA (Gas) and one for the wood burner. Total parts cost £600 but that included a 15 hour round trip to Scotland.

You'll need a Hetas man to certify and fit, or go through BC.

Flue link is for 5" pipe - I think hetas prefer 6" as a minimum, but worth checking as I may be wrong. Stove looks a bit no name as well - worth thinking about spares availability in the future.

That stove has a 5" outlet. Would putting a 5" to 6" convertor on it achieve anything?

Defra approved burners can use 5" flue.

Would that not be evident by said stoves having a 6" outlet?

Manufacturers have to play by the rules. So whatever size outlet is on their stoves, I'd say that's the size you have your flue.

Was it Tops Fireplaces by any chance?

I've used them a few times for work and they are first class, wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to the OP
