Filled in the form, they'll contact me in 5 weeks, ouch they obviously sold a lot of tumble-dryers over the last 10 plus years and now I guess they'll be visiting all the owners. This is going to cost them a fortune.
I only filled the online form in a couple of days ago and got a call this morning with an appointment for next week.Apparently there are two parts to be replaced.

The old dears dryer has just been fixed.
New rear redesigned panel and a seal. He asked for a vacuum cleaner but didn't clean it out as it was "fine" apparently although many are apparently cogged up rather badly.
Not amused the repair guy didn't take the old panel with him. Apparently we have to dump that.
Not sure how my mum is supposed to do that.

To be fair, I've always kept the filter clean on ours since reading (not sure if it was on PH) about a fireman who attended, or his watch attended, a tumble drier fire in his own garage! I can imagine the ribbing that he got for that having attended so many similar incidents himself in the past.
That would've been me Will be checking our replacement Hotpoint tomorrow
I got a call on Friday from the 'Indisit / Hotpoint recall centre' saying they are going to offer me a like for like brand new replacement. I just need to verify the serial number / model number of the unit (which I didn't have on me at the time) they are calling me back tomorrow to sort this. Does seem a bit odd as I remember filling it out on the online form when registered that mine was in the recall group.
Did anyone else have this call?

We had one of the affected models. Filled in the online form and was contacted within a week. We were given the option of a repair, with a lead time of a few months, or a brand new one for £99 instead of £199. Considering we'd had the offending dryer for well over 8 years, we took the option of a new one. It was delivered a week later and they took the old one away.
So far so good.

Thanks, mine is affected, email confirmation is now saying 8 weeks waiting time for them to book a visit.
It's been 18 months since I cleaned the condenser and it was full again, I found it easiest to blast out the fluff with a shower, the gentle trickle of water shown in the video got me nowhere.

Our old Indesit was on the affected list. Had it about 4 years and we've received a new Whirlpool condenser just the other week so can't complain although the missus is still in a bit of a flap as she 'doesn't do instructions' and this thing has a ton of buttons to figure out!
Checked online and they go for around £250 so I call that a good result.
