Anything specific to look out for on these models?

It's done approx 140 hours and recently serviced. £1700. I just want it for the mulching function, that's how I cut my grass just now.

"John Deere X140 Ride On Mower. 21HP Twin Cylinder Engine, Hydrostatic transmission drive, 48" Cutting Deck with option of mulch, side discharge or collection system. all in very good condition."

I have the very same model , without the collection.

I just mulch.

If I want to collect leaves I have a sweeper that gets towed behind.

Has been fine to day , got 120 hours otc

If you are going to mulch , just make sure you keep the blades (3) in good condition.

You will be amazed at what it can make disappear !

Thanks for the replies.

I can't see X140's new to compare it too.

Is 140 hours a lot on these?? What's the expected life of the engine\gearbox?

They're cheap because the only thing about them that is JD is the green paint and the badge.

125hrs is less than an hour a week for three years.... so no, not all that much, though the engine was scrap when it left the factory so it could go on forever or go pop at any moment.
