Went with the D85 from Neato in the end. Did quite a bit of research and the reviews seemed pretty good so thanks for the tip on that. The new model "connected" looked better spec wise but was not far off twice the price in the end so went with the D85. Will update when its here and been on a few times.
I'd be interested to see how you get on as this is the model that I planned to buy, but having been given one, I saved my money.

We have one (an 880). He's called Dave.

Does a reasonable job keeping the cat hair at bay, but is prone to being a bit stupid and getting stuck under stuff sometimes!
My Roomba was called Dave too smile

Initial thoughts.... very good. Picks up more than our hand held dyson - which shocked me actually!

Cleaned our whole ground floor, didn't get stuck and picked up >99% of the pet hair. Climbed the rug no problem too. Very impressive.

Tried it in the bedroom today and it did under the bed which was great as it only gets done every now and then.

Would even consider getting another for the first floor.
