Standard two gang light switch in the hall, one does the outside porch lights and the other a feature bulb in our hall alcove.

What would be handy would be to program them to come on at dusk until say 11pm and then on at 7 in the morning for an hour, plus be able to manually switch them on whenever needed.

I've had a look at the usual places and I can't seem to find anything that does exactly what I'm after, anyone here done anything similar?

Yeah two gang if possible, if there isn't anything I guess my only choice is to wire them both to one switch.

This is the only option I've found so far MrBig;

It's a pretty basic set up and a bit ugly but does work. Unfortunately it's quite loud when it activates as it's just two motors that push wheels against the light switches and run off four AA batteries. A bit Heath Robinson but does work!

Have a look at Clas Ohlson Nexa range. They have some remote sensor stuff which works with existing installations for some home automation. They have a dusk/dawn sensor which also has a timed function.

We have a movement sensor which turns on the existing external welcome lights and works great.

Thanks, but I need to retain easy manual override function too. Don't really fancy having that in the hall either. I think this is now a moot point anyway as the missus has bought an LED light for the hallway which I installed yesterday. It comes with a remote control as well, but for some reason it doesn't switch on and off on the light switch anyway. Have to cycle the switch 4 or 5 times just to get the light on. Not happy.

I've started to use Philips Hue instead of timers. You can install the plain Lux LED bulb and schedule on and off. Quick off/on at the switch lights them up. You need to wait for the next 'off' scheduled or switch them off in the app. You need the hub.
