Unless I am misreading your post, you do actually owe them £990 but they already paid you back the surplus. If you really owe them that amount, then you should pay them (or as someone has suggested, get a discount for the inconvenience to yourself).

funnily enough i used to be with talk talk and we are with npower.

if you phone talk talk they are atrocious, if post on their public forums, then amazingly your faults get fixed fairly quickly, because it's in the public eye.

my SiL to be used to work for Eon in their call centre. he used to get into trouble as he would spend too much time on one call because he was actually trying to sort out the issue for the customer. thankfully for his sanity he has left them now smile

Scottish power threatened to take me to court for non payment of bill , I've never had an account with them , they've never supplied electric to my house , it went on for a year , they even admitted they didn't and never had supplied electric but still insisted I owed them money ! Morons

I hate N Power and will never go back. After telling them to leave my DD alone they lowered it resulting in me owing them money. Absolute sods.
