We topcoated after kitchen went in - no issue with dustsheets and protection down: mind you they used rollers, rather than a spray gun.

Yes. It's predominently white the finish. Will post pics after it's arrived and gone in.

At the very excited want to move into it all stage now.

Utility room is now floored to match the kitchen and they've moved into the downstairs shower-room.

Obviously you're in the industry so it's planned, however for someone who doesn't like this kinda wavey line of light, what is the solution?

We call those 'scallops'

These are set at 300mm from the cabinet to light the front and also, to provide light into the cabinet when opened. You can't avoid the lines as they are the top of the beam angle but the alternative would be to use adjustable down ligthts and set them further away then tilt them back then the scallop is less pronounced. Depending on the angle of tilt available, 6-700mm would be about right.

You won't get much wider a beam angle than that. Those are 40 degrees but the beam angles are measured within the cone where there is more than 50% of the available light. The natural spread is wider

We're going to have wide angle spots in the kitchen area and pendats over the table.

Frosted glass doesn't do that. Lights in the picture are fitted thus.

I was there but tbh, not been to the 'Guinness' Tent for a few years. We said enough's enough when it got to €9 a pint so we bring cans up. For the last few years we've started the race at the chicane at the bottom of the start/finish straight, spent a few hours wandering down towards karting then home and on to Arnage and Mulsanne.

Here we are then.

Very nearly finished. Literally a couple of snags left but getting the builders back this side of Christmas has been challenging to say the least.

But we're pretty much there. Absolutely loving the extra space and practicality of the new rooms. We now have 5 beds, 3 baths, 2 living rooms, utility and the large kitchen. House was 1700sqft and is now 2400 and I still have a decent garage/store.

Lawn was turfed in the week before Le Mans then it rained solid for two weeks so it's taken really well. The boys are particularly enjoying the cleared space and their goal is up in a corner. Because the garden is L shape, we're able to tuck this away so we can't see it from the house. Had a touch with a local lawn chap who's building a house shortly. Let's just say I saved a lot of £ on the lawn but I now owe him a large favour!



During the early build, I had the garden cleeared and levelled as well as five poor trees removed and now turfed, it's transformed. Now have the older part of the lawn to work on as it's crap and weedy but over the next year I will treat and restore.



Original kitchen/diner now converted into an open playroom for my boys.The twin doors in the second pic slide into the walls to open into the new kitchen.











Still need a front panel for the island and also need to find a single table (or two the same) to replace those for dining but the length works really well in there.

It's been a reasonably lengthy and occasionally frustrating process to get to this point. We're over budget but only by a little bit so nothing catastrophic. No-one got pregnant during the build and we're all loving the transformation.
