Anyone know where best to get silicon coolant hoses. Don't need a full kit ............. only the bottom end of the engine. So need someone that supplies them individually. anyone? Cheers.

If your user name is due to where you live ASH are only in Mirfield and open on a Saturday. Really good place to visit. I always come away with things I didn't know I actually needed!

For coolant hoses I'd use ACT and for air intake any of the cheap ones on eBay will do.

I replaced all my coolant hoses last year using a kit supplied by ACT specifically for the S. The curved hoses had been pre-formed and at least one has different inside diameters at each end - something you'll have to cater for with adapters/joiners/reducers if you don't get a kit and just order individual hoses.

Wherever you get them from, you'll probably find that the clamps need tightening regularly in the first few months of use as they bed in.

This might help in choosing the right one from ASH. It's a visual overview which I made when I dismantled the cooling system.

No Steve, it could never be that straightforward, could it?!!! rolleyes . There are differences between Early SI, Later S1/S2, and S3/S4. And of course the V8S was completely different.

To add to the complications, some S2s were incorrectly plumbed by TVR and took ages to warm up, and ran too cold. Rob ( GriffinR ) devised pipework to remedy this anomaly, it's on this forum somewhere, if somebody can find it & post a link to it.

Tim at ACT is a very helpful chap though and will do his best to advise you.

Over cooling is kind of good though. Insert a large gaffs tape covered sponge into the lower grill and normal winter setting is engaged. In late spring remove the sponge and summer mode is activated....
