After playing through all of Far Cry 4 and loving it, I am looking to get Primal when its released later this month.

The only thing stopping me is the lack of guns and vehicles. I did spend a lot of time stalking around with just the bow in the last one but am not sure how this will work in the new game?

Anyone else going to be getting it?

I'm a bit apprahensive about the lack of guns and vehicles. Loved 3 and 4 so yes I will be getting it.

I think that it's a good change up for Ubisoft. They've been churning out the same game with different locations for it two major franchises for awhile now.

I can see any true stealth missions being really annoying but the rest being quite alot of fun like the Shangrila(sp) missions in 4. It's on my watch list based on the reviews that come out. smile

If you haven't played FarCry 2 or 3 yet you should.

You should get FC3 just for Vaas.

This is just a guess on my part, but I would imagine that it will be a lot like the Shangri-La missions in FC4.

If you didn't like those (I didn't) then you probably won't like Primal either.

This will be the first Far Cry I won't buy. No guns etc. Shame they went this route

I loved FC3 but when a friend bought Far Cry 4 and I had a couple of hours on it I couldn't justify buying what effectively felt like the same game all over again, just with more hills...

The new one looks comfortably different which I think it needed - as others have pointed out. We're supposed to be saving for a wedding or something though, which might get in the way of me purchasing it...

..
That's why I bought it - just another FC3 expansion pack effectively !

But I can't see any point to Primal, given the lack of weaponry and vehicles?!?!

As much point as the Shangri-La missions in FC4. smile

Due to the Shangri-La missions the engine already supported gunless combat, plus elephants (both riding and hunting) and other big game, so it was probably very little work to churn out Primal.

taking over enemy bases has always been the best part of FC imho. the worst is when something like a pack of rhino attack when you're low on heavy ammo.

primal therefore doesn't sound like my kinda game.

Absolutely loved FC4, but I think I might give this a miss, just doesn't seem like my cup of tea.

Holding out for Uncharted as my next big game purchase.

Got it at the weekend and I have to say it's quite a bit of fun. A cool change up from the usual Far Cry formula we've seen in 3 & 4. Still some elements remain the same, radio towers are now replaced by big fire beacon things while outposts are replaced with...well outposts with tents I guess?

Having not played FC4 I wouldn't say I'm tired of the same type of things cropping up, but it is pretty obvious.

All in all it's a fun game so far, taming animals isn't overly difficult. The location is fantastic and the weapons/comabt are fun too.

Played it for about 30 mins and it's slow so far. I'm missing the lack of guns and vehicles but I keep playing to see if things pick up.

Yeah I know it's set in the Stone Age but it's a pain having to walk everywhere and the only weapons I have at the moment are a club, bow and a dog. I'm hoping this game is grows on me over time.
