Over the weekend a log spat some embers out of my wood burner and buggered my carpet! If I remember correctly, the carpet was part wool part nylon. I believe that makes it hard wearing, but clearly it melts with heat. My wife will only want carpet and not a hard floor. She also won't be wanting sisal or similar. So where does that leave us? All wool, all nylon or a mix? What are the advantages and disadvantages with these? Any help appreciated. (And don't say 'get a fire guard'. This happened because I was putting logs in when a guard would have been in the way!)biggrin

Get a new wife, lol!

Seriously I can't see you not potentially having this problem again in the future unless you take the precautions that have been refused.

Good luck
