We have a King size bedstead which needs a "base board" over the wooden slats, it measures 5' x 6'6"
I'm thinking of a single piece of hardboard but a quick Google search only appears to quote 1220 x 2440 sizes.
I.e. 8 x 4 in old money.
Is it available in larger sizes? Obviously I'll need 1525 x 1980mm (approx)
I appreciate it's more difficult to handle but I don't want to join two pieces together if at all possible.
I have access to suitable transport to get it home, and could cut it relatively easily to suit.
I guess a piece of thin MDF would be ok too.
Any ideas, please?

You'll be able to get it as MDF, maybe plywood. (10' by 5' sheet)

You can certainly buy MDF big enough:

Just join it - it's screwed to the slats - what's the issue ?

Mine has been screwed down for 5+ years without issue.

(admittedly I used 6mm ply)

Do you really need to cover the very edges? Can't imagine it will make much difference.
