Has anyone used this as a furniture protection plan?

My nana is thinking of getting it as it apparently covers against cat scratches, wine stains and so on. However reading reviews online it has 1.4/10, however when reading the reviews, half of the complaints get a reply from guardsman saying they must be talking about the USA guardsman company, so i dont know what to think

I got this when I bought a leather sofa from Glasswells. As a cynic for waarrnties I interrogated them pretty fiercely and do believe that it covers everything for 5 years. When it comes to 4 years 11 months and I claim for cat damage we'll find out if it was true.

I had it on a leather sofa that started to loose it's top surface at about 4 years 10 months. I claimed and they sent around a chap to repair it. All good.

The problem is that the repair was only guaranteed for 3 months, I'm sure you can all guess what happened 5 months later!!

It seems extensive from the brochere ive read, just concerned they will look for any excuse to not come out and repair it.

One possible 'get-out' I sensed was that they'll only allow you to use their own (very expensive and not very good) cleaning products. The salesman tried to sell me box of damp tissues for £40; I told him no thanks.

What do you mean? The policy is for coming out and removing stains so i dont think i would need to buy cleaning products?

The inference was that if you hadn't used their 'approved' cleaning products the warranty could be void. Mind you I don't see how you/they could prove whether you had or not...
