So it's about £3 a sq ft then, £2.60 with some bargaining. Does like good, have to admit. What does it feel like though? On a hot day going out into the garden and laying on the cool grass with a cold beer is a nice feeling. Not sure you'd get the same effect with that; in fact with it being plastic it'd probably burn your arse?

How do you clean bird st and muck off it? Do you have to pressure wash it or something?
It doesn't feel particularly 'plasticy' but it does warm up in the sun but not to the point where you wouldn't lie down on it.

Bird muck etc you just hose off should it happen. But like with my real lawn I never noticed much of this to be honest.

Just to tidy this thread up here's a couple of pictures from this morning.

My daughter and her husband came round last night and immediately said "We're getting this!"

Again, click on the picture and then click on the picture again in the new window that opens in order to get a better view.
were the hell is this Equatorial Guinea ??
I'm surprised you don't get visits from David Attenborough at the bottom of your garden .......in search of lesser spotted baboons ..

very impressive , a really lovely set of plants and shrubs you have there , we put some artificial grass over our patio , has made a great difference

cheers

This isn't right is it? Builder come out with some rubbish about it had to be laid in that direction because of the end membrane bit.

We've bought a new house with artificial lawns fron and rear installed by the builder. The rest of the street looks good so hope ours is too

Is this yours? No it's not been done correct. All products like this have a 'nap' direction. The two sides here have been laid in opposite directions. Thus the light is being reflected badly off the right hand side piece. Like a piece of carpeting, you have to lay both pieces so that the nap goes the same way.

A professional job wouldn't show a join either, and the join is obvious on the right hand side there.

Not mine, mother in laws. Your comments reflect exactly what I said, he's going to have to do it again.

This is me ne. Very happy with it. Zero maintaenance, dog no longer has muddy paws either.

DIY job, so any imperfection she I can live with. Joint could have been done a bit better but as I did it myself and didn't pay an expert then it's acceptable.

I got the impression it's the first one he's ever done. The walls, fence, carport and gate are of a decent standard. The plastering inside the house is good too. Think that he needs more practice at this though, which he'll get when he pulls it all up again hehe

That's pretty bad. Before he comes back I suggest lifting a section probably at the bottom of the photo where the join is, this will allow you to check that he has taped and glued the join correctly, more importantly, it allows you to check there is a decent weed membrane that comes right to the edge of the lawn - if it doesn't you'll have all sorts of problems a year or so down the line.

That manhole bodge annoys me beyond reason. Also block paving just does not work for narrow paths like that and really doesn't go with the fake grass. There appear to be a bunch of ripples in the fake grass on the left side too if you look closely. Poor do all round and I bet it wasn't cheap either.

That is shocking. we have a join running along the width of our lawn & there is zero evidence it is there.

This is mine (right-hand section). Been down since June this year. For the "animals" side of the garden. So far so good - it's taken everything that 4 border collies and 2 chickens can throw at it. Maintenance is easy with a quick spray of disinfectant every week or so. Could do with a brush/hoover but CBA. Still beats mowing, and the house is free of muddy paw prints.

Just got to save up and get the main bit of the garden done now. weeping
