Time to fit a new bathroom. Want it to look great and last a long time. Like the Villeroy and Boch stuff, but not their prices. Can anyone recommend some top quality stuff that doesn't carry a posh brand price premium?

I put in Roper Rhodes. Looks nice, terrible customer service when there was an issue (basin cast without enough space around the tap fitting.

I put in Ideal Standard 25yrs ago with no problems.
(I'm assuming that they still have a wide choice of styles)

We fitted a V & B suite over 2 years ago (o.novo). Still looks brand new and wasn't that expensive compared to other good quality stuff. Worth the extra in our opinion.

Your comment, "look great and last a long time" would steer me towards V&B. You do g t what you pay for. Their ceramics are on another level.

I went for V&B for ceramics/furniture with the exception of the bathroom mirror (HiB) and bath (Carron).

If you do go for V&B I highly recommend these guys: www.reuter.de

Some other members pointed me their way and I ended up using them for everything I could. I needed to change an item and they were great on the customer service too, they found a guy in their team who spoke the best English to call me back to discuss.

I've been pleased with the Duravit stuff - ordered from Germany (Reuter.de)

Doing this at the moment and gone for a Carron (Carronite) bath and Hudson Reed for the rest. So far all appears to be a good quality but I guess time will tell!

Take a look at www.megabad.com - a German company. Their prices are much cheaper than here and I know a few people that have used them and been really impressed with the service. I'll be doing 3 bathrooms using them at the end of this year

Another vote for reuter.de. Used them for all our kit and great service. We used a mixture of V & B, Burgbad and Keuco.

We sourced our V&B gear through a fellow PHer.

Its excellent quality stuff. It so good, that I'm in the process of ripping out the existing cheap loos and replacing with lovely wall hung, non-stick coated, open rimmed and soft-closing V&B goodness!

Thanks everyone. I'm looking at all your suggestions. I'd be interested in knowing who the Villeroy and Boch Pistonheads member is.

Well you could use Google translate but tbh the best thing to do is find what you want from whatever source you'd normally use and then search on those product codes. There is also an FAQ in English here:

OP how are you getting on with your bathroom? We need to get ours done so keen to hear what you went with in the end. I think we're settling on a Carron bath and Keuco basin and fittings.

We got mostly Duravit stuff for our extension and it's excellent quality.
