Are those kits you see with the gum shield etc any good? If so can anyone recommend one please. Or am I better off going to see a dentist?

I haven't got particularly yellow teeth, I'd just like them a bit whiter. Don't smoke and only drink 4 cups of coffee per week.

TIA.

Most professional teeth whitening is done using Hydrogen Peroxide which is expensive and leaves your teeth really sensitive.

I use this toothpaste http://www.boots.com/en/Colgate-Max-White-Expert-W... it has a low amount of hydrogen peroxide in it and when you use it daily you'll notice a difference. I've a had a few comments from people saying my teeth look whiter.

I agree that teeth can be left sensitive. I also use a toothpaste called "janina". There are numerous versions of it. I tend to use the extra strength version. It leaves the most wonderful clean taste in your mouth and after a period of time using I can honestly say it definitely works.
