I've fitted lots of Solidoor and RockDoor and I prefer the Solidoor.

It depends on what's already fitted as It can take longer to remove the old window than it takes to fit the new one. Overall its pretty simple though, you will need the local authority to sign it off but that doesn't cost a great deal. You need to be aware of the rules for escape windows, toughened glass areas but the window supplier will help you with that.
Hmm. The existing Windows are cheap UPVC units. Must be about 30 years old.

Fitting is easy. Taking out and making good the old windows/hole can be a bind though.

Whereabouts in the NW?

I use SouthportGlass.
I'm not very good at making good unfortunately! We are near Haydock. Do you do this professionally?
