Looks like a great setup - for what its worth i have that weber and never have any issues with height - i always use 2 of those pre-bagged coal things and it works brilliantly (and hasnt fallen apart like the 3 homebase equivalents before it...)
What are you doing about drainage? I had a patio like that and it was a pain on that front without clear drain work around the permiter
That’s good to know, thanks! What are you doing about drainage? I had a patio like that and it was a pain on that front without clear drain work around the permiter
The patio has quite a natural fall, and the perimeter of the patio (where it meets walls/units) has a larger gap that will be backfilled with gravel, finally in the corner of the units there is a drainage void under the slabs, so it can drain off in that corner too.
The sail was just a cheapo one from amazon for now:

It did the job though and kept us dry on a very wet day.
I need a bit of a bigger and stronger one long term though

Looks good, have you used the oven yet?
I most certainly have, it went straight in at the deep endIt slow cooked a whole minted leg of lamb and whole pork shoulder for pulled pork in the morning, hoovering around 180 degrees for about 5 hours
Then the meat came out and we really got it roaring, upto about 400 degrees and then we (party with friends) made about 20 pizzas
Then Sunday family came around for another pizza party and we made loads of pizza, calzone, garlic bread etc
I'm honestly amazed at how good it was, people that had never made a pizza before in their lives, with no instructions made a really tasty crispy pizza first time, me included!
We got through 36 of these pizza bases in its first 2 days
Unfortunately no pics of any finished pizzas, they went from oven to mouth pretty quick
Congrats on getting it all set up and working! (had a pizza from one of these over the weekend, they had mounted the oven on a trailer and drove to market squares, very nice pizza!)
Random FYI, I have a breadmaker and can tell it to make me pizza dough, all kneaded and ready to get rolled out and baked.
Enjoy!

Pitch, they look great!
My pizzas are turning out like oblong deep pans at the moment, how do you get them so flat and big? Hand stretch? Throw? Rolling pin?
Its all in the dough buddy, I will get my tech over to you, but never ever use a rolling pin on a pizza base.My pizzas are turning out like oblong deep pans at the moment, how do you get them so flat and big? Hand stretch? Throw? Rolling pin?

that is a pretty impressive job, I'm being nagged to build a pizza oven. I think the only thing that lets it down is the grouting on the floor - why so thick? It seems to be softening with age but you have stunning slabs and it detracts (IMO!). Maybe some kind of polish to bring them up more?
Other than that, great job and I doubt my effort will come even close to as good! And I won't be taking pictures!
