Oh my!
The dolly looked unbraked and even if it was, surely it's way over weight for that car !

Not to mention the whole "lets put the weight two feet up in the air, and halve the wheelbase" design of that dolly, wouldnt take much cornering to get that to tip over i'd imagine

You do realise that these things need a good few hours to get fully up to temperature? The only real solution will therefore be to get the fire going in there before you start moving it.

There are two separate problems imo, getting it down the stairs and getting it across the grass. Brute force and ignorance will be OK for getting the thing across the grass but trying the same on the steps is just asking for trouble. I'd use a couple of A frames or scaffold towers, an rsj, and sliding chain block to get it to the lower level, from there it should be easy.

I hate to bring 'elf&safety into it but be aware of the pitfalls of using a pallet truck and gravity biggrin makes me cringe smile
https://youtu.be/e3n7ydQt140

Also forklifts etc are very dangerous ensure you watch the 'elf&safety video prior to commencing operations biglaugh

Great thread OP, sh!t planning at the outset though biglaugh

You're trying to tell me you can hire a 20t mobile crane + operator (driver) for an hour for £60? OK..

rofl
Yes. Yes we did.
Typically it was a 60Te' we'd use (as 20Te can lift chuff all at radius - perhaps a Pizza Oven) but Yes, same principle.
So- it was £180 to pop round the corner and do an hours lifting for us smile

Want Invoices or something?
Aye these are typical costs of hiring a large crane. We did exactly this. My dad organised it.

In 1971.

1. Hire a site trolley/turntable trolley. Up to two ton capacity IIRC
2. Manhandle or use an engine hoist to put it on the trolley
3. Tie oven to trolley with ratchet straps.
4. Scaffold planks on stairs.
5. Lower trolley downstairs with winch or ropes
6. Push trolley to location.

If you cook in there the pizzas are going to slip to the left - hey, automatic calzones!
