Build the outside eating area at the top of the slope.

Order a ton of bagged sand from Jewsons to be delivered to your house. It will be delivered with a hiab with brick grab. Drop the driver a blue one and problem solved? Well at least to get it to the lower level anyway.
Give the driver a Viagra?

The idea above of building a scaffolding frame work from the top of the hill to the landing location, then some proper rigging gear, chain blocks, strops, shackles would be the winner for me I think.
Yah exactly, how far is it horizontally from the top street out into the garden how far do you have to extend the load?

Best idea yet IMHO.
A HIAB would never be capable of doing that in a million years.

What? I work in construction and have done for 30 years. A HIAB would pi55 470kgs even under its bed. I've had HIABs that can do 5.7t at 15m radius in the past and there are much bigger beasts out there. Granted I've assumed that the lift down to garden height is of close proximity ie. less than 10m but with riggers out a stock material suppliers HIAB will do the job. They're capable of 1t at full reach.

could you build a road for the hiab lorry to drive down, then it would be picking up from higher level and depositing it on the pedestal?

I meant a Jewsons style, non speciailist HIAB, it's not the reach that's the problem, it's the combination of reach and having to lower it about 3m below ground level, I would have thought that would make it quite unstable?

Then order a bulk bag of gravel from Travis Perkins, when the driver turns up, get him to take away the unwanted bulk bag of sand in return for some beer money. Sorted!

I'm in the Health and Fitness business, used to some pretty big equipment being installed upstairs, basements, god knows where.

I could put you in touch with a team that'd do that but for a one off job realistically they'd charge £500.

PM if it helps.

You have clearly never operated a LMC.I have operated rear mounted, front mounted, rollers,Moffetts and Manitou on every axle configuration(including a Chinese six) that is made and not one would do what the OP wants. He needs specialist gear for this lift.

I think you're missing an option here - helium balloons...
A quick back of the fag packet calculation shows that you'll get circa 4 kg of lift from a 2m diameter weather balloon, so you'll only need 112 of them if the oven is 500 kg including strops etc. Or 178 balloons if it's 700kg.

You can buy the weather balloons and helium online, or just swap the 112 weather balloons for 94,000 regular helium party balloons.

If you use hydrogen instead of helium, you can use half as many balloons smile
Another vote here for hydrogen. Then, light up a cigarette and admire the good work smokin
hehe What better way to signal to his neighbours that pizza is about to be served than to shower them with molten rubber propelled by a hydrogen explosion?

To expand on the sand/gravel hiab idea, order lots and lots more of the stuff and dump it at the bottom of the slope. Use a couple of broom handles or similar to roll the oven onto the top of the pile then start to shovel away the sand.

Don't think weights the problem as much as reach ?

Lift it into the back of the L200 and drive it down the steps into place? Not sure about getting back up the steps though..

Build a slide down the steps, with a long run off across the garden, put the oven at the top of the stairs,on wheels...and push!

If there is anyone you really dont like, feel free to ask them to wait for you at the end of the slide

I love that there are people out there who just get on and do stuff, but personally I couldn't stand doing things your way which seems to boil down to making a mess of your garden and spending lots of money on stuff before asking a forum full of car nerds how to make it all work!

Good luck for the rest of the project. smile
Sometimes its the only way. My old boss was very much a just get on with it sort, it served him well his company is worth well over 10 mill. Some people think too hard about things.
I'm not dissing the get on and do it mentality, but I suspect with a little bit of thought and research the OP would probably have decided it would be easier to build their own pizza oven...
