Your meter measures in 100's of cubic feet (volume), but you're billed per kilowatt/hour (like electricity).
The conversion is doing that (but, slightly bizarrely, converting it from cubic feet to cubic meters). The correction factor is a small (but standard) fudge because the energy in a specific 'volume' of gas depends on temperature/pressure.
That bill looks very large, but correct. You took two meter readings yourself (no estimates), with 100 'units' of gas used between them.
Either you have a major gas leak, you're trying to heat the entire planet, or one of your meter readings is incorrect? What's the meter reading today?
Thanks for posting it
Forgot to add - This isn't either of the bills you mentioned previously, is it?

If the current reading is 4 digits (1220) why are there 5 on the bill? You ignore any figures after the decimal point.

May: 100 "units", £95 bill
June: 85 "units", £81 bill
July: 48 "units", £?? bill, as you;'ve chopped off the top. but I assume it's under £50?
Remind me where you think you're being scr*wed again?
OK, I think I see where you've gone wrong. You've just been associating the wrong month's usage with each bill. the £81 pound bill is NOT for 48 units, but for 85.
Aga : OK, you *are* trying to heat the entire planet Does it do hot water/central heating as well?

Yes, it does. And we did have a slight lack of insulation over the winter....June: 85 "units", £81 bill

It's billed as M3 and our meter is ft3, is that what he correction factor is for ?
You really aren't reading the bill are you? The correction factor is explicitly explained on the pic you posted.Actions are being taken to minimise usage, however, I like walking into a toasty kitchen in the winter, so I'll have to suck it up.
Utility bds want to up dd, but at £150 a month, it works out perfect. Why should I let them earn interest on my money ?
The DD amount is designed to be the average over the year so the monthly amount is the same but it means you build up a surplus in the summer and burn through it in the winter.
If you give them regular readings then they can work out your annual consumption easier and the DD should remain fairly steady.

And OVO give you 3% interest on the balanceIf you give them regular readings them they can work out your annual consumption easier and the DD should remain fairly steady.
