baxi boiler keeps coming on with cold water

I keep hearing the boiler come on when i turn a cold tap on or the cold only washing machine fills up. Its a Baxi combi 33 HE.

just checked and no gas is being used

Fit a shock arrestor. The cold supply opening/closing is triggering the flow-switch on the boiler.

Get a plumber out who will tell you it's knackered and you need to get a new one

What Lookatmycat said. Things like washing machines and quarter turns taps shut off the water supply instantly. the sudden build up of pressure sends a 'shockwave' through the pipework and can trigger a sensitive flow switch.
