All I'd say is don't end it, you owe that to your kids, it would be horrific for them if you did. And who knows, life gives us bad days and good days.

Read the depression thread, it's a bit lower down.
Book an appointment to see your Doctor.

Hi, it's a pretty low place to be, I experienced very similar to you. Posting here was a fair thing to do. Speaking up about how you feel is healthy. Have you got family or close friends you can talk to, maybe even tonight? Even a Chat to Samaritans for a while to stave off the wish to remove yourself from the situation. Your kids are growing up and you know that deep down you want to be around for them, no? Your GP can help, so try to make an appointment. It's a horrible illness, but there are people to help. Just keep reaching out and don't hold it all inside. What have you got going on tomorrow?

Do NOT do it.
Fun is to be had. Maybe not yet, but it is.
I promise.

Speak to your GP.

A st life just now is better than no life at all. You can`t afford to not see your kids grow up mate, and plenty help is available so you do not have to go through this with no help.

See your GP. You need to talk about the ugly st, and there are professional people paid to listen and help you find your way to the light at the end of the tunnel.

Pick up a paintbrush, a pencil, or any activity you got joy from in the past and re-explore that? Or, sign up for the thing you always wanted to try. There is a long history and link between depression and creativity.

I've pm'ed you. Want a beer or a chat, call me. I've a few mates who have clinical depression. It might need drugs, or just a good heart to heart.

What ever you do, there is a better end than you are thinking.

First dont kill yourself. This only passes the pain on, to your kids/family etc.

Go see your doctor. Depression is a clinical problem there is help.

Your life has changed a lot in the last year big changes like that can really knock you, theres things you can do to help yourself out. https://depression.org.nz/get-better/self-help/

Exercise and get out. Go walking, get a bike, pick up a sport.
Take pleasure from small stuff, stop stressing the big stuff.
Get social, its likely youe social life has vanished due to marriage/split etc, go out and start interacting with people

I know this is a kiwi website but it has good advice.

Have you checked your email & junk folder? I know they go into junk sometimes.

Would echo what the others say, it does get better.

I was there two years ago. Saw my doc who described pills that were a nightmare at first but then worked very well, as well as counseling. It all helped and more importantly taught me to realise that when I'm down, it does pass.

My lovely counselor told me that I needed to take control of my life and not be under the thumb of my ex wife, as I had been for the previous 6 years. I moved further away to a lovely cottage in the countryside with spare rooms for the kids, bought a car that I had always wanted and even got myself a girlfriend for a brief time.

Just get help straight away plus talk on here. Pistonheads has helped me through loads in the past decade or more.

Good luck and feel free to PM me.

Robster, How are you doing today? I hope you found someone in real life to talk to, perhaps spoke to your/a GP.
