We should be able to have access to Sky Q lnb's later this month / early 2017.

But technically there is nothing stopping you installing the same cable Sky use and even a standard dish and then getting the engineer to swap over the LNB.

You just need to make sure it is accessable and within the H&S scope of what they are allowed to do. Heck I have even swapped the LNB over for the Sky Engineers on some of my installs when they have been unable due to H&S.

Cant remember where you are Moose, but happy to help if we can.

We had tenants install Sky. The installer put the dish at eye height in the garden facing the house and cut a tree in half too making the dish look awful. The cables were as bad with brickwork badly drilled.

Be involved.

There no change to the cable spec from the dish to the main box from my understanding & what I was told by SKY technical when I enquired about it for my new build?

Correct, cable has stayed the same, but you can't share it with Freeview anymore.
