I went to Jersey for work the other week, It struck me as a little bit French but with the stuck up benefits attitude from the UK.

One of my best mates lives in Jersey, we've visited a lot...love it! People are nice, it's very safe etc. Property is expensive mind and, as a non-resident, buying property can be very difficult.

As I understand it, you need money, or you need a relative who lives there already to be considered.

Don't forget, there is a murder on Jersey everyday, Bergerac..........hello......

You'll be renting for about 10 years, unless you're earning £500k a year and can come in as a 1(1)K ie lots of money.

quite small, you'll get island fever for a while. Bars etc are pretty quiet except on the weekends, but its chilled and just a quick flight back to the uk if needed.

Guernsey is even smaller, but I don't know much about that.

Guernsey are being very vigilent on how long they let people stay. Even teachers are being asked to leave after 5 years, so be careful about how long you plan to stay. There are other rules for those who have money

Hang on, this is Pistonheads right? nobody mentioned the highest speed limit on Jersey is 40mph and on Guernsey is 35 and that there is an ongoing campaign in Guernsey to reduce it to 20!!!

Sure, but no fixed speed cameras and you can own handguns in Jersey, so it's not all bad!
