Live in a pretty large old house with equally large interest only mortgage. Been thinking about down sizing for some time now and this year looks like a good idea..or is it? House prices have stagnated round this area lately, houses that are similar to mine sitting on the market for probably nearly a year now. Do I just sit it out further or whack it on the market and see what happens?

If you don't put it on the market it will never sell.

If you want to sell it faster, reduce the price.

I'd go for it now, before article 50

You think article 50 will actually make a difference?

The uncertainty it will cause will definitely mean that caution will increase, this will slow the market at least.

Depending on where the OP's house is and the price bracket the stamp duty thresholds will be as much to blame as Brexit. I don't think article 50 being triggered makes a difference, we're not going to have any clarity of what Brexit means for the economy for two or three years.
