This is the exact one I was thinking of above. Brutal is accurate, got would have to spend many hundreds to get that sort of power cordless.
Another vote for this one......It's lethal. Have a very firm grip on it if you don't want to do your wrists in.
And another - I've yet to find anything it couldn't shift. It even managed to remove the crank bolt off a Ford Zetec engine!!
Cheaper on Amazon.
Forget battery powered varieties unless you really can't run a cable.

Ordered the 240V Clarke one from Amazon, great value (hopefully) for £65!

Thanks again.

Buy cheap, buy twice...

As for battery power ones not being good...

https://www.milwaukeetool.com/power-tools/cordless...

I have it, and I am yet to encounter a nut or bolt which cannot be undone. The GT3 rear driveshaft nuts are torqued up at 350ft/lbs. Took me about 30secs to undo them...

Well it arrived today.

You guys weren't kidding, it is indeed brutal and heavy! Can't imagine much will defeat it!

Same here, ordered at 16.00 yesterday and arrived at 17.00 today
Will be giving it possibly it's toughest test first thing tomorrow, a bmw e30 crankshaft nut, 420 nm torque iirc.

Going by the recommendations on here, I bought one of these from Amazon on Friday night. It arrived today.

I set-to on the crank-bolt of an old Rover V8 I have on a stand, which has defeated me for the last 6 months.

Didn't touch it.

Back to the drawing board...

You were warned above; buy cheap, buy twice!

What did you expect for £65 - it's just a toy...

I know; I was listening to the posters above who had nothing but good to say about it. I'll demote it to just wheel nuts and the like.

My Chicago Pneumatics 1" drive uses industrial amounts of air, which I don't have at home. I guess I'll just need to take the block to work and get properly brutal with it.

To undo one nut, surely a short, large bore pipe and it'd work off any compressor for a short burst.

It uses 300 cfm.

I reckon I'd get a 2 second blast before the tank on my little 240v compressor was empty.

I can only comment on how it's gone for me, and so far it's dealt with everything I've wanted it to do. Perhaps I'm just not trying enough smile

Tis a bummer it didn't work (I'm sure we've all bought tools that didn't live up to expectations) but 450Nm is a lot of torque and puts it up there with the bigger boys. Someone must have really overtightened that V8 nut? - the spec is 270Nm which the Clarke should have laughed at.
I've done a few cambelts and hub removals and the nut just came straight out. I stand by my recommendation - It is a good bit of kit for the money.

But 2 seconds ought to do it !
