Dimmer switch for a multi bulb lamp
Discussion
I'd like to incorporate a dimmer switch into a 240v lamp base which features x4 20w bulbs.
It seems that using the module out of a wall dimmer for ceiling lights isn't an appropriate type - or if it is, could someone please explain in (very) simple terms how to wire up the x4 lives, x4 neutrals from the bulb holders (earths are combined and connected to the metal lamp base).
The module I've got is 1 in, 1 out - I think I need x2 in+out?
Any suggestions or recommendations for dimmer modules please?

Without the exact details of the dimmer you intend to use. Just connect the live supply from the plug (1 Brown) to Common terminal on dimmer switch, all four lives from the lamps (4 Browns) connected to load (L1) on dimmer switch.
Neutrals (5 Blues) connected togeather using a connector block. Do not connect them to the switch.
